Devlog #2 - Getting Closer

Hello everyone, welcome to our second devlog!

We’re excited to have you here, and we have some things we’re sure you’re going to like, let’s jump in!

UI/UX rework:

We have reworked, and are finalizing the layouts for different phases of the game's core loop, and are planning to implement them in game very soon.

Another feature we have been working on, called "susometer", shows how suspicious each player is based on other players' input on their devices.

Art:

We have been busy making a final call for the color palette we want to use, and the overall visual style. We mentioned in last month's devlog that we've made some decisions regarding this matter, but still, we consolidated our ideas this month to have a proper direction in our implementation work.
The character redesigns are also coming along to the stage where we can start animations.

Our animator has been hard at work animating a few of our characters as proof of concepts. We’re glad to show the first results, and a lot more is coming!

We are also working on a new logo for the game, and have been brainstorming ideas that would communicate the theme and core of the game better than the current one.

Game Design:

As mentioned in the previous devlog, we are still running regular playtest sessions to test new features and mechanics we have in mind. Some of them seemed super promising, while we had to throw away others. We meet every week to brainstorm and report the findings. We feel that everyone will be happy with the end results!

Tech:

We are still working on our backend APIs to make future development robust, and straightforward on all our front end clients.

We have been experimenting with many ideas on how to make the wrapper around the game's core loop (e.g. the menus, config pages, etc.) more user friendly. Expect more news on that in future devlogs.

Community:

We’re also glad to say we ran another successful Game Night, with Cole965’s as host! It was super fun meeting new players and getting their thoughts on the game. A lot more of those nights are planned, if you want to try out the game and play with us, make sure to join us next time in our Discord! Thanks everyone for coming in!

We are also happy to announce our Content Creator Partnership Program! If you are a streamer, youtuber, or content creator and want to join our family, we would be ecstatic to see you apply! Perks will include getting in touch with the devs, plan colabs with other partnered streamers, exclusive Q&As, first peek at upcoming content, and more! Find out more on our Discord.

Thanks everyone for joining us on this devlog! We’re super excited about those UI changes, and what’s coming in terms of animations for our characters. We hope you liked what we shared today, and we can’t wait to share more development details on the next one!
